Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Accomack County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search indicates agreement. A person who does not accept these terms must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Accomack County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide consumer reports for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is a Virginia criminal-record reference resource, not a private-investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent from every government office. It does not store official records, conduct official checks, retrieve a file on request, or submit court paperwork.

Its content identifies custodians of Accomack County criminal records, including the sheriff, the criminal court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Some pages also connect readers with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following restrictions. You may not:

  • Use site content in violation of federal, Virginia, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person
  • Use content in a credit, employment, insurance, or housing decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, service, or system
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or another automated collection method
  • Interfere with site availability, speed, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Virginia Code § 9.1-918 specifically prohibits intimidation and harassment through willful misuse of Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry data. The registry supports lawful community safety, not vigilante action or prohibited screening.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a background check, credit report, or other consumer report. Advertising partners are not presented as providers for regulated screening. Site or linked-tool data may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally permissible official Virginia check should be obtained through the proper Virginia Department of State Police process or another provider that meets all applicable FCRA duties.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how an Accomack County charge, conviction, warrant, expungement, or sealing rule applies to a particular person. Consult a licensed Virginia attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, outcomes, sealing orders, and expungements can change a record. Updates may lag, and omissions can occur. Only the relevant Accomack County or Virginia office can issue an official statement or record.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information found through either.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Virginia. Access to official records remains subject to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Code § 2.2-3700 et seq., applicable court-record laws, and the criminal-history dissemination limits in Virginia Code § 19.2-389.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
